In 1995 STELLA MUSICAL GmbH decided to start playing Les Mis in a brand new theatre in Duisburg.
In June 1997 Damien joined the cast.
On Novembre 28th 1999 the show was closed, to the dismay of cast and fans. But hey, the balance sheet is more important than a show, right ?
Les Mis was, is and always will remain the biggest musical hit of all time thanks to the story of Victor Hugo and the music of Claude-Michel Schönberg. Furthermore it is Damiens' favorite show.
During his stay at Les Mis he managed to make a few (about 200) pictures backstage. Here they are.
One warning ! The thumbnails do not link to fullsize pics as the fulsizes are only available for people closely associated with this production and/or Damien ! If you want those (and you qualify the criterium) e-mail Damien a list and you'll get them. Sorry for all the others, but I don't want to get into trouble with Cameron Macintosh nor STELLA, two potential employers....

Well, what are you waiting for ?
In 1995 besloot de Duitse musicalproducent STELLA MUSICAL GmbH van start te gaan met Les Misérables in een gloednieuw theater in Duisburg, speciaal voor de gelegenheid gebouwd.
In 1997 vervoegde Damien de cast.
In 1999 werd de show afgevoerd wegens te weinig publiek. Een omstreden beslissing aangezien er een "lichte" discrepantie bestond tussen het publiek in de zaal en het publiek op papier... Maar kom, STELLA zat in slechte papieren en iemand moest de klappen krijgen. En daar "sluiten" nog altijd makkelijker is dan "redden"...
Les Mis was, is en zal altijd dé musical hit aller tijden zijn. Dat dankzij het verhaal van Victor Hugo en de muziek van Claude-Michel Schönberg. En het is Damiens' favoriete musical.
Tijdens zijn verblijf aldaar heeft Damien een paar (zo'n 200) fotootjes gemaakt backstage. En we hebben die hier toch wel gegroepeerd zekers ?
Maar opgepast ! De "duimnageltjes" (Beschaafd Nederlands voor Thumbnails) verbinden niet door naar de grote foto's (10 x 15 cm). Die zijn alleen verkrijgbaar voor mensen verbonden aan deze Les Mis produktie en/of hen die een persoonlijke band met Damien hebben. Indien U aan dit criterium voldoet : e-mail Damien een lijstje van de gewenste foto's en je krijgt ze prompt in je virtuele brievenbus. Excuus voor de omslachtige werkwijze, maar ik wil geen risico lopen noch Cameron Macintosh, noch STELLA in de wielen te rijden wat betreft copyrights. Potentiële werkgevers, weetuwel...
Daarenboven hebben we de grootste tekstuele stommiteiten op een rijtje gezet. In't Duits, wel te verstaan. Alsook de leukste "Wist U datjes", maar aangezien wij van afwisseling houden : in het Engels.
Wel ? Waarop wacht U nog om te gaan kijken ?
